AAC Policy Development Training

Tailored support for schools & educational settings. Organisational change in education can be complex, but adapting to new policies and practices is essential to support all learners effectively. Our bespoke AAC Policy Development Training is designed to help schools create a structured approach to supporting learners with complex communication needs. This course is for a group of key stakeholders within the school (cost per course, not per person).

Description

This one-day course, delivered at an Ace Centre location or on-site at your school (mileage added), is facilitated by two of our experienced consultants. Together, we will guide your key stakeholders through a range of activities designed to audit/adapt/develop an AAC policy for your setting. 

Course includes

Auditing Current Practice – Assess where your school stands in supporting learners who benefit from aided language and communication supports.
Developing Your AAC Policy – Define a clear vision for AAC implementation tailored to your setting.
Clarifying Roles & Responsibilities – Establish who is responsible for different aspects of AAC support within your team.
Referral Pathways & Training Needs – Identify internal and external support routes and plan professional development.
Legislation & DfE Guidance – Ensure your policy aligns with legal requirements and best practice recommendations.

Course aim

By the end of the session, your school will have a practical, actionable AAC policy and a clear strategy for moving forward.
