Course aim

Consider ways in which AAC users can engage in literacy learning.

You will learn

FREE Taster Session:

  • To explore key considerations for developing literacy skills and the impact for AAC users.

PAID for session: 

  • To explore ways in which literacy can be taught to children with complex learning needs.
  • To examine some of the legislation around literacy learning and the importance of providing opportunities for all learners.
  • To identify the skills required for literacy learning.
  • To identify potential barriers for literacy learning for our more complex learners.
  • To consider resources that can be used to facilitate the development of literacy skills for people with complex physical, learning and sensory needs.

IPAACKS competencies

This course covers knowledge and skills across Level 2 for Assessment and  Implementation.
